Pantera Axed From German Festivals
Pantera has been sent a message: maybe don’t come to Germany. The recently-reunited band has been dropped by two separate German events in light of past actions by frontman Philip Anselmo. Organizers of both the Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park events released matching statements simply stating: “The band Pantera will not perform at Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring 2023 as announced."
The move is allegedly in response to a performance in 2016 in which Anselmo made the “white power” gesture on-stage while paying tribute to late bandmate “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Germany’s Green Party led the charge to have Pantera’s appearance canceled, claiming Anselmo “repeatedly and deliberately made Nazi gestures and yelled racist slogans."
Anselmo defended himself in 2019 to Britain’s Kerrang! Magazine, saying: “I feel like it's ridiculous. I made an off-color joke, and 'Boom!' — it's like I'm literally Hitler! I'm not.”

Chris Stapleton Will Perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl
Country music WILL be represented at the Super Bowl on February 12th. Chris Stapleton was asked to perform the National Anthem. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Fox, so tune in early so you don't miss it.
Troy Kotsur from "CODA" will perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language. Babyface will sing "America the Beautiful," and Sheryl Lee Ralph from "Abbott Elementary" will perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing."

Willie Nelson Is Celebrating His 90th B-Day with an Epic, Two-Day Concert
Willie Nelson is turning 90 this year, which is hard to believe . . . he must be doing something right. And he's celebrating with an epic two-day concert at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A., beginning on April 29th.
The line-up is almost Coachella-like, and it's only been partially announced. So far, it includes Beck, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Lyle Lovett, Miranda Lambert, Neil Young, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, the Avett Brothers, The Chicks, The Lumineers, Tom Jones, and Ziggy Marley.

Pan!c At The Disco Announces Break-Up
And then there were none. Pan!c At The Disco, which began as a four-member band and then gradually became a solo act, is no more. Lead singer and officially the only remaining member Brendon Urie announced the news on Instagram yesterday, saying, “sometimes a journey must end,” and citing his upcoming foray into fatherhood.
"The prospect of being a father and watching my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting,” wrote Urie. “I look forward to this next adventure.”
The band- or at least Urie- will tour one final time on this “Viva La Vengeance” tour in support of their album bearing the same name in Europe from February to March. The tour kicks off in Vienna on February 20th before ending in Manchester, UK, on March 10th.
